Go Study Australia

My name is Laura Garcia, from Galicia (Spain)

I am the new Student Advisor in the GO STUDY Australia Perth office. I studied a Bachelor’s degree in business administration and a Master’s degree in International trade. Since arriving in Australia, I have specialised in marketing.

I arrived in Perth in 2015 through the Global Talent Experience of AIESEC. This gave me the opportunity to work as a Marketing and Administration Coordinator for an immigration agent and I did this for one year. After that, I worked for two years with an education provider for international students and most recently I have started working for GO STUDY.

My previous work experience has helped me gain valuable knowledge about the Australian visas and the education industry. Whilst being here, I have fallen madly in love with the City of Perth. I have been living here for three and a half years now and I would not change it for anything in the world!

Why would you recommend to travel to Australia?

I would recommend people to travel in Australia because this is paradise on earth! There are unique landscapes and wildlife here, which cannot be found anywhere else in the world.

Aside from that, you will constantly be in touch with friendly people and multicultural diversity. There are always plenty of things to see and do and of course, the best weather!

Why did you choose Perth?

Perth is a beautiful and very convenient city. Personally, I don’t want to spend much time and money on transport and I love going to the beach, taking part in outdoor activities, camping, road trips, etc. You can do all of that here in Perth.

There are not so many Spanish people here, so I have found it is quicker and easier to learn English. Living expenses and rent are cheaper compared to other cities in Australia as well.

On top of that, Perth is the Australian city with more hours of sun per year and with the wildest and most majestic beaches I have ever seen in my life.

Do you have a tip for the future traveller?

Don’t be afraid of trying, being persistent and showing interest! This is very important when you are looking for a job in Australia. Never give up and believe in yourself!
