You can work in a fire affected area doing things like rebuilding fences and homes or land clearing and this will classify as approved work to meet your 2nd year working holiday extension conditions.

So instead of picking watermelons in Queensland, you can now repair dams, roads and railways or help with demolition and support a local community on the coast of NSW. Work for longer than 6 months with the same employer

If you have been travelling through Australia on a Work and Holiday Visa in the past, you were only allowed to stay with the same employer for six months at a time. But this has changed: If you contribute to construction work in disaster zones, including land clearing, rebuilding fences and homes and demolition, your employer can now hire you for a whole year.

To be eligible for a second working holiday visa, you must complete three months of work in an approved area of northern or regional Australia. For a third year, you must prove an additional six months of regional work. Since the different types of recovery effort mentioned above now count as specified work, this can be your way of staying longer in Australia.

Applicants for a working holiday visa must be between 18 and 30 years of age and be a citizen of an eligible country.

Today – the Western Australian Government released its Graduate Occupation List for 2020 and beyond.

If you study at an approved Western Australian university or college for at least 2 years, full time – you may be eligible for a Permanent residency Pathway. Applicants who have a nominated occupation identified on the Western Australian skilled migration
occupation list (WASMOL) or Graduate occupation list (GOL) may be eligible for Western Australian State nomination (a pathway to Permanent Residency) using one of the following visa subclasses:

1. Skilled Nominated visa (subclass 190); or

2. Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 491). 

Requirements You Should Know:

1. A minimum of 65 points

2. Have studied at least 2 years of full-time study in Western Australia

3. You have at least 6 months of paid work experience in the nominated occupation in the last 5 years for at least 20 hours per week

or

4. You have a full-time contract in the nominated position that is for at least 6 months.

1. Wake up Hostel

This is one of our favourite places to stay in Bondi because it is a clean, affordable (prices are around 40 dollar per person per night) and fun hostel. For this reason, a lot of young people stay here, so it’s a perfect place to make new friends. The hostel is a few metres from the beach!!

2. Bondi Beachouse YHA Hostel

This Hostel is located between Tamarama and Bondi beach. It is a fun and affordable hostel (prices are around 30 dollar per person per night) and from the rooftop, you can enjoy the view of Tamarama beach. There are also good public transport links from here to the city centre. Because of these reasons, we would definitely recommend this hostel when staying in Sydney. 

3. Noahs Bondi Beach

Noah’s Bondi Beach is located across the street from Bondi Beach and it is also next to the beach, restaurants, shops, cafes and public transport. It is an affordable hostel (prices are around 25 to 40 dollar per person per night) and therefore suitable for backpackers that want to experience the best beach and surf life of Sydney.

4. Bondi Beach House

Bondi beach house is perfect for people who want to stay close to the beach, but also want to chill and relax sometimes. The minimum stay is 2 nights and prices are around 260 dollars per night. This guest house has a lot of character and charm with their unique blend of colour, antiques, arts and eclectic items. It has an amazing terrace and is just 3 minutes walking to Bondi Beach. Thus a perfect place if you want to enjoy the Bondi life but you also want to be able to withdraw from the crowds.

5. Adina apartments Bondi

Adina apartments offer beautiful rooms to stay and it is close to the beach. It is a bit more expensive than hostels (prices are around 300 dollars per night), but if you want to have more privacy and want to chill this is the perfect place.

Beach Road hotel is one of the best places to party in Bondi Beach and very popular with backpackers and locals. Especially Wednesday is a good day to go to Beach road because then there are a lot of backpackers to party and it is always really busy. Furthermore, Beach Road hotel is also the perfect place for a drink or to pool with friends.

2. The Bavarian

Are you that person that loves to do karaoke with friends and having a fun night? Then you should definitely go to karaoke night at The Bavarian every Monday. The Bavarian is not only fun on Mondays, it is also the perfect place to party on other days.

3. Bondi Hotel

If you want to drink cheap, Bondi Hotel is the perfect place for that. Every day they have a happy hour from 18:00 to 21:00, House Beers, House Wines & Sparkling for $5 and Cocktails: Espresso Martini/ Aperol Spritz/ Gordins Pink Gin for $10. On Friday and Saturday they have happy hour from 21:30 to 23:30, schooner New/ Tooheys New/ HSD/ HED, house wine, sparkling and spirits for $4.50. So for cheap drinks and a fun night go to Bondi Hotel, it is open until 4 am. 

4. Bar 34

This a popular nightspot in Bondi beach and is dressed up like an American dive bar. The bar has views over the beach and you can also order great food and cocktails here. If you go downstairs, they also have 5 nights a day the best live music, from reggae to R&B and beach rock to acoustic soul. So, this place is definitely the ideal venue for a great party or having drinks with friends. 

5. The royal hotel

The perfect bar for a quick drink and a game of pool, or a nice party into the night. From Monday to Friday they also have a happy hour from 6pm to 8pm, pins, house wine and house spirits for just $6. Thus get your mates together and go to the royal hotel for a fun night!
