Go Study Australia

Are you dreaming about returning to Australia? Explore your options!

You’ve already lived your Aussie experience and can’t wait to go back? Explore your options to return Down Under!

First thing first, let’s figure out which visa(s) you have already held and hence if you have more than one option to return to your fav country.

YOU HAVE ALREADY USED YOUR FIRST WORKING HOLIDAY VISA

In that case, there are a few options.

You haven’t completed your 88 days (3-month) farm work

In that case, you cannot apply for a second WHV – you’ll have to pivot towards a Student visa. This visa is tied to a language, vocational, or university course, has no age restriction, and lasts for the duration of your study program, plus an extra month at the end of your course. Usually, on a student visa, you’re allowed to work up to 40 hours a fortnight during term (basically a part-time job, 20 hours a week) and full-time in the holidays.

However, at the moment and until the 30th of June 2023, the hours restrictions have been relaxed and you’re allowed to work full-time at all times.

You have completed your 88 days (3-month) farm work

  • You can apply for a second WHV and return to Australia for your second year. You’ll be allowed to work full-time and travel all around the country.
  • You can apply for a Student visa, in case you decide to return to Australia and invest in a vocational education path.

YOU HAVE ALREADY USED YOUR SECOND WORKING HOLIDAY VISA

You haven’t completed your 6 months farm work

You cannot apply for a third WHV and the only visa that allows you to work legally is the Student visa.

You’ve completed your 6 months farm work

  • You can apply for a third WHV and return to Australia for your third year. You’ll be allowed to work full-time and travel all around the country.
  • You can apply for a Student visa, in case you decide to return to Australia and invest in a vocational education path.

YOU HAVE ALREADY USED YOUR THIRD WORKING HOLIDAY VISA

In that case, you have used all your Working Holiday visas. The only visa you can apply for at this stage is the Student visa

YOU HAVE ALREADY USED YOUR STUDENT VISA

Are you 35 years old or younger?

  • You can apply for a Working Holiday visa, which allows you to work full-time and travel all around the country for a year.
  • You can apply for another Student visa and further your study journey.

Are you over 35?

In that case, you can only apply for a Student visa.

YOU HAVE ALREADY USED YOUR TOURIST VISA

In that case, the world is your oyster! You have many options.

Are you 35 years old or younger?

  • You can apply for a Working Holiday visa, which allows you to work full-time and travel all around the country for a year.
  • You can apply for another Student visa and further your study journey.

Are you over 35?

In that case, you can only apply for a Student visa.

HOW TO CHOOSE A COURSE FOR YOUR STUDENT VISA

Depending on your goal, you can choose between language, vocational or university courses.

If you have specific goals, you might want to consider combining more than one course. For example, you might want to do that if you aim to obtain higher-level qualifications that are more attractive in the eyes of an employer.

REMEMBER: the longer the course of study, the longer your visa (and therefore your stay in Australia).

What course to choose?

There are three approaches when choosing the right course to apply for your student visa.

  • I’m looking for a course with the prospect of migrating: courses in some specific areas allow you, once completed, to apply for a special visa, called a Postgraduate. This visa lets you work full-time in Australia for a year and a half, making it much easier to aim for a Sponsor visa (especially in regional areas, including Perth and the Gold Coast) or a Skilled visa. Completing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree also makes you eligible for this visa, which will last two years in that case. Go Study Australia can also support you by putting you in contact with our trusted Migration Agents.
  • I’m looking for a cheap course: cheap courses in Australia cost at least 5,000 AUD a year. You can find them in many fields – business, fitness, leadership, hospitality, yoga, etc – and they can be in line with your current or past work.
  • I’m looking for a course in a particular field, such as:

– 🌊sub;
-🌱horticulture;
-🥪 nutrition;
-💆‍♂️ holistic sciences;
-🏬 real estate.

These are courses suitable for those who wish to obtain a qualification they’d be able to use around the world too, in specific subjects. They are expensive and have no benefits in terms of migrating.
