Welcome to Australia
We host weekly Welcome sessions for all of our new arrivals. Here’s what to expect during the session:
- Receive your free SIM card and we’ll go through the step-by-step activation
- Get all your paperwork done, such as TFN (Tax File Number), ABN (Australian Business Number), etc. to start working as soon as possible
- Open a bank account
- Set up your health insurance (OSHC / Medicare)
- Meet other students that have just arrived – like you!
- Tips and plans to find accommodation;
- Information about your new city
- Learn about upcoming Go Study events in your city

Finding a job
We provide the tools to find a job quickly once you’re in Australia. As part of the Aussie Arrival package, you can join job sessions, workshops and seminars, and also have support paths for finding professional and casual jobs.
The job session includes how and where to look for jobs, what documents are needed to work in Australia, how to create an effective resume, taxes and superannuation and top tips.
Improve your English
To help you settle in to life in Australia, we provide opportunities to help you to improve your English as part of your Arrival package.
We host language exchange events so that you can practise your English as well as meeting new people and making friends.
