Migration Agent in Sydney or Melbourne

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Migration Agent with at least 2 years of experience in Australian immigration services to join our migration unit, Go Migrate Australia, either in Melbourne or Sydney. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing professional, client-focused migration services to individuals and businesses, assisting with visa applications, compliance, and other immigration-related matters.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, where you will help clients navigate the complexities of Australian immigration law, while building on your expertise in the field.

Key responsibilities:

  • Visa Advice & Application: Provide expert advice on a wide range of visa categories, including student visas, working holiday visas, skilled migration, family reunification, and temporary/permanent residency applications.
  • Client Consultation: Conduct consultations with clients to understand their immigration needs, assess eligibility, and provide tailored advice on the best migration pathways.
  • Application Management: Prepare and lodge visa applications, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete, accurate, and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Compliance & Risk Management: Advise clients on compliance with Australian immigration laws and regulations, including visa conditions, bridging visas, and any potential risks to their immigration status.
  • Case Management: Manage multiple client cases simultaneously, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction and timely processing of applications.
  • Communication & Updates: Maintain clear and regular communication with clients, keeping them informed of application progress and providing updates on relevant immigration changes or policies.
  • Document Preparation: Assist clients with gathering required documentation, including supporting evidence for visa applications, and ensure that submissions meet the standards set by the Department of Home Affairs.
  • Networking & Relationship Building: Build and maintain relationships with relevant stakeholders, including employers, education providers, and other migration professionals.
  • Continuous Professional Development: Stay up to date with changes in Australian immigration law, regulations, and policies to provide the most current and accurate advice to clients.

Accountabilities and Performance Measures:

  • Adhere to and follow company policies and procedures both at a Go Study and at the NexEd level.
  • To work towards achieving the annual budget provided

Environmental Requirements:

  • This position requires work from an office-based location and does not require regular interstate travel.
  • This position may require work beyond standard hours depending on market needs.

Reporting Lines:

  • You will report to the relevant Australian Country Manager

Your skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a registered migration agent (MARA registered).
  • Proven expertise in handling a wide variety of visa types (student visas, work visas, skilled migration, family reunions, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of Australian immigration law, regulations, and policies.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to explain complex immigration matters in an easily understandable way.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple client cases efficiently, prioritising tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Highly organised with attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to delivering exceptional client service.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Registered with OMARA and hold a valid Migration Agent Registration Number (MARN).
  • A background in international education or experience working with international students is an advantage.
  • Proficient in Spanish or Italian 
  • Preferred fluency in other languages (Portuguese and French)
  • WWCC mandatory

Note: This role is open to candidates with at least 2 years of migration agent experience in Australia. Applicants should be based in Melbourne or Sydney, or willing to relocate to one of these locations.

Gold Coast Spanish Local Advisor

Go Study Australia supports more than 5,000 students who study, live, and work in Australia each year. We have 14 locations across Europe, Latin America and Australia. The role of a Local Advisor is primarily focused on student support and mentoring to ensure that all Go Study students have a successful experience in Australia. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

CUSTOMER SERVICE

  • Pre-Departure Communication: Initiate contact with the student before departure using both a GSA email address and WhatsApp. Facilitate a formal introduction by our Advisors, who will remain part of the Whatsapp group throughout the welcome process and the student’s initial months in Australia.
  • Welcome Session: Conduct welcome sessions. These sessions deliver essential information and guidance, outlining the crucial first steps for a smooth transition into the Australian experience.
  • Bank account opening support: Aid the student in opening a bank account through GSA’s partner and facilitate international bank transfers if necessary.
  • Accommodation Support: Address accommodation queries and issues, collaborating with GSA accommodation partners to resolve potential problems.
  • SIM Card Setup: Assist the student in obtaining a SIM card, preferably through GSA’s partner, and help with activation.
  • City Familiarisation: Ensure the student has access to information about the city, public transportation, and other essentials to help them acclimate quickly.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Maintain constant communication with the relevant State Manager to address any issues or questions, ensuring the best service outcome for the student.
  • Review Encouragement: Encourage the student to leave a positive review of GSA if satisfied with our services.
  • School-Related Concerns: Collaborate with the student advisor to address any school-related issues raised by the student, facilitating communication to solve the issues.
  • Ongoing Support: Be available to the student for any questions about their stay in Australia during the initial month of their arrival.
  • Feedback Collection: Send a customer support survey to the student one month after arrival to gather feedback, and share it with the counsellors.
  • Job Support: Provide support in job searching by sharing e-books, advice, tips, and answering questions. This does not entail actively seeking job opportunities but aims to empower the student with essential information, including resume review and enhancement if necessary.

ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS

This role is adaptable to a remote working environment, offering the flexibility to be performed from home. The nature of the responsibilities allows for efficient execution without the necessity of physical presence at a GSA office. 


SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Australian experience
Be in Australia and have been living there for at least 6 months.

Excellent Customer Service
Customer service: possess strong customer service skills, ensuring a positive and supportive experience for Spanish students or working holiday visa holders.

Bilingual Proficiency:
Fluent in Spanish as a native speaker, facilitating effective communication and rapport-building with Spanish individuals. Proficient in English, enabling clear and concise communication in a multicultural setting.

Cultural Sensitivity:
Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and awareness, especially concerning Spanish customs and traditions.

Remote Work Competence:
Comfortable working remotely, showcasing adaptability to virtual communication tools and platforms.

Interpersonal Skills:
Strong interpersonal skills to establish connections and build relationships with students, colleagues, and stakeholders.

Organisational Abilities:
Efficiently manage tasks and responsibilities, demonstrating organisational skills to coordinate various aspects of student support.

Problem-Solving:
Exhibit problem-solving skills to address potential challenges related to accommodation, banking, and other support areas.

Counselling or Support Experience:
Previous experience in a counselling or support role is advantageous, providing a foundation for assisting students during their initial stages in Australia.

Community Engagement:
Ability to foster a sense of community by encouraging students to participate in social media groups and events.

Flexibility:
Display flexibility in adapting to the dynamic needs of students and the role, ensuring a responsive and client-centric approach.

Positive Attitude:
Maintain a positive and approachable demeanour, contributing to a welcoming and supportive atmosphere for students.
